We had a fantastic response to our recent CP86 webinar with more than 300 registering to tune in to the views of our panel of industry experts.
The webinar was hosted by Yvonne Connolly, Country Head, Carne Group Ireland, with panellist speakers Des Fullam, Group Chief Product & Regulatory Officer, Carne Group, Kieran Walsh, Director & Designated Person Lord Abbett, Cormac Commins, Partner, Arthur Cox Dublin and Gail Weiss, President & Chief Trust Officer, Aon Trust Company.
The panellists discussed the range of topics covered in the Central Bank o Ireland’s Dear CEO letter and discussed areas which firms should consider as part of their review of their obligations. It was also an opportunity to get the unique view from a firm that chose to outsource its management company to a 3rd party and from one that chose to build its own management company.

80 attendees responded to our first poll with an even split between those who favoured outsourcing, those who favoured using their own ManCo and those who remain undecided.
Question 2 Do you see a future for the self-managed investment company (SMIC)?
101 attendees responded to our second poll with the majority believing the SMIC does not have a future and the remainder split between believing the SMIC has a future and being undecided.
